Railing has to be the proper height and if made from glass has to be safety glass ( tempered glass).

Proper baluster or spindle spacing is criticle for infant safety. Landings cannot be too far from the begining or end of stairways.

A bad electrical circuit panel can cause a fire if it is not in good shape. A good home inspection can help detect problems before they become very serious.

Doors need to be wide enough for proper egress.

Flue gases need to exit the house properly. Fire blocking is needed where flue travels through walls in the house.

GFCI receptacles or circuit breakers are great protection against electrical shock when properly installed and in the right places.  AFCI circuit breakers are used to trip the breaker if anything arcs either within or outside the walls minimizing a fire hazard. Our inspection will test the devices to make sure they work and function properly for their intended use. 

A TPR (temperature and pressure relief valve} is required to be present on every water heater. The TPR valve relieves pressure from the water heater whenever to temperature reaches 21o f or 150 psi. This is required so that the appliance does not explode due to high pressure. Proper inspection to make sure the appliance is equipped with one and has the relieved pressure guided through a pipe to a safe drainage area is recommended.
